Distribution and habitat

Native to the Mediterranean region. Naturalised in southern Africa. For instance, it has become abundant in localised areas of public spaces in Constantia as well as Constantia Nek and Cecilia Forest in the Cape Peninsula (T. Rebelo, iNaturalist).
