This 1983 Ford Cortina Mk5 Crusader is a right-hand drive, British-market example with 25k indicated miles. The 1.6L inline-four drives the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The car was originally sold by Norman Reeves Motors in Uxbridge, Middlesex, was reportedly kept for many years by Cortina enthusiasts prior to the seller’s 2016 purchase. Finished in Caribbean Blue over Grey cloth, the car was featured on BaT in October 2018 and has travelled 1,200 miles since it was imported into Florida in October 2016, with most recent service occurring in July 2017. This Mk5 Cortina is now offered with a collection of advertisements and brochures, MOT paperwork, original tires, import documents, recent service receipts, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Caribbean Blue (J2), and shows two faded areas on the hood and a cracked window seal, with a few stone chips on the lower front valence. A handful of other small blemishes include a shallow door ding noted by the seller, and can be seen in gallery closeups. Note the British number plates and AA grille badge (the UK equivalent of AAA).

The seller states that the car shows a July 1982 build date, and believes it to be one of the final Cortinas built. Four prior owners are reported by the seller, who says it was kept by members of the Cortina Owners Club prior to his acquisition. Factory 13” steel wheels were refinished in silver, and wear 165/80 Uniroyal Rain Expert tires from 2014. The original Michelin XZX tires are included and can be seen in the gallery.

The Crusader specification was the second-highest trim level available, and included a host of interior upgrades shown on a period advertisement included in gallery below. Matching grey carpets, velour/carpet door panels, and wood-look applique can be seen on the dash and door caps as pictured above. The seller states that the climate control functions properly, and the factory push-button radio shown above has been removed but is included in the sale. The 5-place odometer shows approximately 25k miles, which the seller states are corroborated in the service history. Around 1,200 miles have been driven by the seller since the car was imported in October 2016.
