Harold Ramis' Former North Shore Mansion Lists for $2.59M

New, 3 comments

The suburban home of the late, great Harold Ramis has hit the market with a $2.599 million price tag, the Chicago Tribune has reported. Similar to fellow Chicago area native John Hughes, Ramis led a prolific career in Hollywood, writing and directing some of the greatest comedies of the '70s and '80s. Ramis regularly collaborated with North Shore native Bill Murray on his films, including Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. According to the Tribune, Ramis and his wife purchased the six bedroom, five and a half bathroom Glencoe home back in 1996 in order to be closer to family. The home sits on nearly an acre lot and includes a backyard that is anchored by a swimming pool and spacious deck area. Originally built in 1923, the home appears to have been extensively updated and features what look like virtually new interiors.
