Description
Deutsch: Zentrum für Holocaust- und Minderheitenstudien (norwegisch Senter for studier av Holocaust og livssynsminoriteter, auch als «HL-senteret») in Oslo, Norwegen, 2021: Die gestreifte KZ-Häftlingskleidung (Lagerjargon: Zebra-Kleidung) wurde durch die Inspektion der Konzentrationslager unter Theodor Eicke ab 1938 bis 1939 als Einheitsbekleidung für die Häftlinge in nationalsozialistischen Konzentrationslagern eingeführt, nach Angaben von Zeitzeugen vermutlich beginnend mit dem KZ Dachau.


English: Photo from the exhibitions of the Center for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities (Norwegian: HL-senteret) in Oslo, Norway: Auschwitz.net: By 1937, the Nazi regime’s prisoner uniforms made of coarse grey-blue striped material and clogs had become standard issue in the concentration camp system. The inmates' striped uniforms was marked with a badge indicating the prisoner’s category and a personal identification number.
