A CARVED MAORI TIKI WOOD FIGURE
New Zealand, mid-20th century. The caramel-colored wood carved as a standing male figure atop a square base, with a large head and three-fingered hands clasping an extended abdomen, the head and parts of the body carved with traditional maori tattoo designs, the almond eyes inlaid with paua shell. An incised artist’s monogram ´P´ to backside.
Condition: Very good condition with minor surface wear.
