Everyone was looking forward to seeing the Netflix docuseries on David Beckham's life but behind it all many were eager to see if the football legend would open up about what really happened with Rebecca Loos back in 2004.
With the story resurfacing this time around thanks to the series, Rebecca found herself hounded by a mixture of messages from trolls as well as others showing their support.
However, one keen viewer who is desperate to get to the bottom of it all posted an interesting take on the whole scenario that grabbed the attention of the woman at the centre of the scandal herself.
To this day David still stands strong by his words, claiming that this affair never happened. But many people are still in two minds about who to believe.
When the story resurfaced again during the making of the docuseries, many questioned how truthful Rebecca was being, but one person highlighted how 'If it wasn't true then they would have sued for defamation.'
Rebecca has only gone and added fuel to the fire once again, as she responded to the comment with a 'like' and a prayer hands emoji.
Since the story resurfaced The Dutch former glamour model has been the target of hate; but the difference this time around is that many people can hound her over social media- something that was not available back in 2004.
One person wrote her saying 'Some of the comments on here are disgusting!!! Stay strong. You have a beautiful life with your gorgeous family which unlike others doesn't have to fill the gaps by getting Netflix involved!!!'
She responded 'Thank you am taking in the nasty comments with as much humour as I can.'
It must be a hard pill for Rebecca in particular to swallow, now that the Beckhams are the ones to shine a light on the alleged affair almost 20 years after she first claimed she had slept with Victoria's husband as he played football in Madrid.
She's now living an almost unrecognisable life as a frontline worker in Norway where she is married with two sons.
Victoria was very candid as she told programme makers that it was the 'hardest' time of her life and that when it came to them both as a couple, she and David no longer 'had each other.'
With the press constantly adding more light on the subject each day, she said that the pair got to a point where they knew they had to 'fight for their family.' David added that he 'felt physically sick every day' due to the lies being told.
