Kuja is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy IX. He is the Genome created by the Terran leader, Garland. He was created in order to channel Gaia's souls of the dead and bringing Terra's new grandeur. When Garland created new Genome, Zidane to take Kuja's place. Kuja was enraged. He abandoned his younger brother on Gaia and returned to channel souls.

A couple of years later, Kuja is employed as weapon dealer for once kind and radiant Queen Brahne. Kuja supplies Brahne with tools of war, Black Mages and starts the war between the nations.


Final Fantasy IX[edit]

Kuja was the weapon supplier of Queen Brahne. He started the war between the blooming nations of Alexandria, Lindblum, and Burmecia. His plan was to kill as many as Gaia's inhabitants as he could to channel their souls to Terra. But he soon discovers that his soul is mortal and his time is nearly up. Kuja kills his creator Garland and gains the ability of Trance. He creates Memoria, an attic of the Crystal World that holds Crystal Of Life within. Kuja reaches the Crystal but Zidane's group follows him and defeats him. With remnants of his strength, Kuja casts Ultima and summons Necron within the process. He transport defeated Zidane and his allies to Hill of Despair, where ultimate entity of life and death, Necron, resides. However, he is hit by the Ultima's impact and awaits death. He changes his mind and apologizes to Zidane for the havoc he began in Gaia and finally dies within the Iifa Tree.
