Nandita Das recently unveiled the trailer of her film Zwigato, which stars Kapil Sharma in the lead. At the launch event, the actor-comedian talked about the film and also revealed why the filmmaker chose him for the role. Kapil stated that Nandita told him that even if Shah Rukh Khan had accepted the role, she wouldn't have taken him for the film. He stated that Nandita wanted a "common face" who could "fit anywhere," and hence, he got the role.
Talking about the film, Kapil stated that he used to work at Coca-Cola and shared that everyone does small jobs when they first come to Mumbai. He added that, at that time, there were no apps and all the products were transported in trucks. And when Nandita told him the story about all the difficulties faced by the delivery agents, he could relate to it.
The film is the story of a delivery agent. The man (played by Kapil) accepts this job after losing his position as floor manager of a factory. The movie also stars Shahana Goswami. She will play Kapil's onscreen wife. Sayani Gupta and Gul Panag are also part of the Nandita Das directorial. Initially, the movie was supposed to be a four-director anthology. It has been scheduled for release in India on March 17, 2023. The movie has been screened at several international film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, the Asian premiere at the 27th Busan International Film Festival, and the International Film Festival of Kerala.
