FOUND IT!
(This is a running joke I have with my teen kids, whenever we visit Lost Lagoon).
Oh, how do I love Lost Lagoon; let me count the ways! It's a short stroll from the seawall to the west and Second Beach (and the pool and concession stand there). All you need to do is cross a street and you're on the trail that circles the Lagoon. It's also adjacent to the seawall on the east side, where the Vancouver Rowing Club and marina is, and the train that leads to the Convention Center. And it's also a short skip and jump from the base of Georgia Street, and the corner of Denman and Georgia (where the Running Room store is). So it's not far to go from fun shops and Starbucks, or walk to downtown. How convenient is that?!
There's a parking lot at Second Beach and also along the street (paid parking by way of meters. This is consistent throughout Stanley Park). So if one is driving here, it's really easy to park near the Lagoon (which is good to know, if you come here with young kids or elderly folks).
You never know what animals and birds you may see here! Sure, there are always little black squirrels and lots of interesting small song birds. But on any given day you might find families of raccoons (many are not fearful of people, so they'll wander quite close to you! Personally, they creep me out, but they're kinda cute from afar), and lots of ducks and geese and herons. I've heard there were swans here but in the 20+ times I've walked around the Lagoon, I've never seen any. I know there are beavers in the water but, again, I've not seen any yet. I see bird watchers with their binoculars often perched on the shores here, so I'm sure there are many interesting bird species about. It's a great place for a short nature walk.
This is a fabulous place to run or jog, as there's a trail that runs the perimeter of the Lagoon. I see many joggers circling the Lagoon once or twice, or running with their dogs (on leashes here, please. This is not an off-leash area).
Note that the Lagoon is not suitable for swimming in or wading. Luckily, Second Beach is so close by if one wants to venture in water on hot days.
There is a famous large fountain in the middle of the Lagoon that's been in the process of being repaired and not functioning ever since I moved here. There's also a small Nature Center with exhibits about the natural environment here. I often see classes of small kids on field trips here. There are also signs along the Lagoon with info about the marine and plant life there. What a great place for a fun and educational outing.
There are bathrooms located in a brick building on the south side of the Lagoon, close to the Nature Center (and more bathrooms at Second Beach, FYI).
At the northeast corner, one can veer off the trail circling the Lagoon to access the Stanley Park Rose Garden (just a 5-minute walk away. There are signs showing the way).
Walking briskly, one can loop around the entire Lagoon in 30 minutes. It's a wonderful oasis in the city, with lots of benches, too, if one wants to sit and watch the ducks or just read or take photos. What a lovely place! Like the seawall, I'll never tire of it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Miss D T.Sacramento, United States274319102Sep 29, 2021
I feel a sense of inner peace and serenity at this wonderful oasis every time I'm here. It lies right by the exit of the park and takes about 30mins to loop around the lagoon. One of my fav places in Stanley park

A nice loop to see the wildlife living in this lagoon. So amazing to watch the great blue heron patiently waiting to catch a little fishie! No cycling along this path.

A nice area to walk in. This area is part of Stanley Park. Quick stroll for fresh air. Love walking here. The Lagoon is beautiful. There is a tunnel for people to walk though crossing / getting to the other side. There is a Pokemon gym here.

The lagoon is ok, it's pretty with the water and everything and there's a lot of geese, ducks and some swans. But there's also lots of bird crap from all the geese and ducks as well, you can't even really walk around without stepping on that crap.

Just beautiful! Minutes away from downtown at the edge of Stanley Park, is this magical lagoon with giant fountain in the centre. There is a Nature House that is run by the Ecological Society of Stanley Park, at the base of the lagoon, which is so cool: They have a ton of information about wildlife that live in Stanley Park, history, etc. You can see real stuffed beavers, owls and birds. The large beaver inside is one of the largest beavers to ever be recorded!
Around the rest of the lagoon are hundreds of Canadian Geese (watch where you step!), some pigeons and a few really beautiful swans! This is such a beautiful spot to walk around. The people who maintain the lower gardens and natural flora and fauna do a tremendous job. Kudos to them!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Christie S.Vancouver, BC2511517Mar 20, 2010
Lost Lagoon is my urban oasis, and I love to share this secret paradise with fellow city-dwellers seeking a quiet place to reflect.
Come here for: a solitary run or walk on a gorgeous trail, a safe place for your young kids to discover nature, a happy place to walk your dog or just for the wilderness sightings - raccoons, beavers, turtles, and all kinds of birds reside here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicole A.Madeira Park, BC462Sep 9, 2018
I work here and have for 3 years with staff for events. This being my first in restaurant and I must say. . Being a server for 13 years. . I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere, servers manager and chefs! It's very clean, proper and fun. The chefs do their best at serving the finest tasting foods with beautiful presentation. Our manager is super accommodating even if we are fully booked, fully attentive at all customers and doesn't ever hesitate to apologize. I appreciate a great team with team effort in all at the same goal of a happy customer! With out customers we don't exist. This is our point here at the Lagoon restaurant. We Actually really all enjoy it! Team work is dream work! And honestly the view is astonishing no matter the weather! Beautiful place with a bunch of fun loving people hoping you feel it too!

Amazing body of water wrapped by trails that run to (and through) Stanley Park, Lost Lagoon is more than just a tourist attraction. A nature sanctuary, a blue heron spotting place, home to the Lost Lagoon Nature House (which holds a wealth of information about Vancouver, Stanley Park, and naturally, the Lost Lagoon and all of the inhabitants that dwell within).
A perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, or start that early am jog, Lost Lagoon is truly one of the most beautiful and relaxing spots in Vancouver. Just watch out for those ducks and swans -- they may look pretty, but they bite and leave little bits of themselves everywhere.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Timothy R.Vancouver, BC027May 14, 2013
It sure is beautiful here.
I think the goose grease adds character... While I can't recommend swimming here, it's entertaining to watch the Lance Armstrong's of the seawall rip through a jerk-speed, and get a rooster tail of goose poop up their back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
