This place has gotta be the worst place to take a loved one, the doctors/ nurses/ PA/ front desk staff show no empathy what so ever.
It's the first place I've ever been where I was scared for my moms healthcare...
They are doing eye dilations and other exams in the halls, and when you do get into a room with some high tech equipment it almost looks like another waiting room crammed with multiple patients awaiting to sit at machines...
Our appointment was for 9am as I'm writing this review it's 1:41pm and still have yet to see any doctor or PA about anything....please keep doing your research and stay away from this place if you care about yours or a loved one healthcareHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 31, 2023
My brother in law was checked in after a road accident. He was admitted in the morning (after 8am) and in surgery by 3pm. I was told he was out around 5pm and removing in a room then.
His items were locked in the ER security. Found out later on discharge day that they only locked his valuables (phone & wallet) which fit in a tiny bag. Everything else was missing- his clothes, shoes, sunglasses and watch. Ot took 2hrs of attempting to look for his stuff (only the locked valuables was returned) and still unable to find them. The ER Security closed before 8pm and we got to him at 8pm (terrible traffic) the first night and was able to grab his phone. He had no way of contacting us as we didn't even know when his surgery finished since he had no phone. They said to come back in the morning around 11am to retrieve his stuff with the nurse's paperwork. You have to go up to the nurse station to get document to go back down to ER security which is ridiculous because to go up to the room, you have to go to ER and pass the security to get to the elevators.
My brother in law was in a room with 2 other patients (room has 4 beds, the final occupant came the next day). There was a small basin and bed pan provided with basic toiletries (toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, bath soap for shower with 2 packs of wipes and 2 male urinal containers). He had dinner which didn't match his menu choice (Thai rice bowl) but instead had a chicken (smallest piece ever) with over steamed veggies.
He only stayed overnight and was discharged the next day. We picked him up around 6:30pm after my husband got off work. He was in a wheelchair (they needed to locate one) and gave him crutches to take home. He was in alot of pain and we drove him to CVS to pick up his meds.
We entered through the front lobby to check in at registration. The side entrance on the right was the way to the H building (where ER is) and then to get on the elevators to his room. It's a very long way to get there and would be easier if we just went through ER but you have to check in at the front registration. Even to pick him up, we thought we could stand infront of ER so it would be a shorter distance for him to get into the car, but they said front entrance of main hospital. It took them 25min to locate a wheelchair and then finally able to wheel him down to us. By then, we were standing outside the hospital almost 40minutes as it took a bit to discharge and wheel him over.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Ryan S.West Harrison, West Harrison, NY01Mar 7, 2024
If you want to get a surgery, go somewhere else. the hospital doctors are mostly students and being a teaching hospital it's all about teaching until you realize that a 4 hour surgery is now going for 14hours with a patient under anesthesia for that long, just racking up bills. The management should have a monitored time for how long a surgery should be performed by a student and when should an attending take over.
Surgeons don't walk in to the OR for hours, Anesthesia takes hours to start a line. There is absolutely no level of planning or organization or respect for the patients safety. Atleast the hospital is making good money off of those poor patients they keep under for hours and hours.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rebecca A.New York, NY5267189Oct 14, 2023
Slow emergency room. It does not take 2 hours for a radiologist to read an emergency room ct scan. I had to go ask staff if the imaging was read yet. The residents seemed competent. Never saw an attending....just be prepared to spend 5 hours of your life waiting

Disgrace! No one picks up the phone. No AC and the employees solution was to place ice packs on the patient. A patient currently there, had a VERY important CANCER TREATMENT appt, went to ask the"nurses" if while he's inpatient, could he go to said appt. he was told to go back to the room. I was on hold for over 45 minutes to seek information and hung up on. Now finally, transferred to the for, I hope, just rings... ya'll should be ashamed of the services ya'll DO NOT provide. Close them down...oops.. just got hung up on again. Thanks Bellevue... ya'll truly are .. welp... use your imagination.

Unbelievable incompetence among staff. Dropping the ball all the time. I spent 10 days here. Repeatedly missed breakfast. Nurses had attitudes as if they were forced to do their jobs. Plenty of nurses wandering around doing nothing. Patients who are mentally ill and unstable allowed to be placed in rooms with other patients. I had a man come into my bed while I was sleeping even though he had a nurse who was specifically paid to watch this guy. He touched me in my bed and then peed in the closet next to my bed. As I type this they still have not cleaned up the urine. (6 hours). Poor communication between staff. When one shift ends and another begins they are clueless as to what is supposed to happen next with a patient. And food was horrible and hard to come by.

I'm pretty pleased with the 7th floor H of the building. I never realized how nice this hospital was. The emergency room is so terribly kept. You would think the whole hospital is like that.
The elevators were actually cleaned if your into touching the button with your naked finger. Shocker I wouldn't risk it but you go ahead. I got evaluated for the WTC health insurance. The doctors and nurses were a pleasure to work with. I got there at 8am and saw so many people till 2:30pm when I left.
Make sure you bring a little sack with you and some water to any location site. Things in this hospital are so expensive from the vending machines. Theres a moonstruck diner in this place and its so pricey. Also if you need your eyes checked they literal have an eye glass place on the bottom floor.
::Bathroom Alert::
It's a hospital bathroom so expect soap to run out. But overall it didn't smell. This is why they lost a star and for upkeep.
I was pleased I was offered a face mask during this crazy outbreak that is going on. I'm fortunate enough to have insurance so that I could go to this place. I'm considering making this location my therapy spot.
Reason why a star was lost is because the cleaning crew didn't seem like they were using proper medical wipes. Hopsitals should use wipes that get rid of all viruses like MSRA, C.diff, Flu and so on. But other than that I'm happy they will help me with my world trade center related illness till 2090.
The man who didna breathing test on me showed me his bb8 star wars robot that runs around the room. That little bugger was cute as a puppy in a basket wearing a blue bow tie.
Make sure you bring something to entertain you to make the time go by.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
