Eminem’s birth chart: How the rapper triumphed through his ‘Shady’ past

Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?

Since he came on the scene at the turn of the century, Eminem, 49, has been like a tidal wave. With his iconic lyrics, songs and courage to push the envelope, the rapper has found a place in pop culture that few artists ever get to reach.

Yet, his career has not only remained strong in music, but he has successfully ventured into other areas of Hollywood—films like 8 Mile where he plays a version of himself, television series like “BMF” alongside powerhouses like 50 Cent, books that chronicle his triumphs and troubles and of course huge performances at mainstream cultural events like the Oscars and the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

But life hasn’t always been easy for the rapper, as he’s experienced his own fair share of public scandals and addictions, although he is happily sober now. With a new album “Curtain Call 2” set to be released on August 5, 2022, along with the tease of a new song, he has new ventures and plans set to come. So what made Eminem the polarizing figure that he is? Will he leave a major legacy behind him—or is some of his best work still ahead? Is Mom’s Spaghetti as iconic as he’s made it out to be? Join me as we dive into his stars because I’m a pop culture astrologer and I can see it all.

Eminem’s birth chart shows that he is a man of pure intensity

Eminem was born on October 17, 1972. This makes him a charismatic Libra Sun with an intellectual Aquarius Moon. His birth time hasn’t been confirmed anymore online, so until he and I cross paths to do his full reading (get at me!), we’ll instead focus on what we do, in fact, know. When it comes to elemental energy, Eminem is heavily composed of Air, which shouldn’t come as a surprise because he is a master communicator. Before I dive into his astrological aspects that bring the nuances to his personality, I also want to point out that his Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication, is in intense Scorpio.

As much as he can take an intellectual and detached approach to his emotions, having his Mercury in Scorpio gives him an intense and sharp-tongued personality. He has strong mental and observational powers and a tremendous focus on digging deep into the shadows to find the truth. He can be quite secretive and at times quiet and reflective, but he is also immensely judgmental and will use his words as a weapon if—and when—he needs to.

As for key cosmic factors linking within his birth chart, I’m also noticing that there’s a significant amount of aspects that Saturn—the planet of restriction—as well as Uranus—the planet of chaos and rebellion—make within him. This is polarizing in itself because Saturn and Uranus are not similar energies whatsoever. Saturn is tied to tradition and constriction, whereas Uranus is future-minded and revolutionary. His Saturn and Uranus even directly interact, revealing that he demands to fight back against established authority and is not a conformer, but hungers to create his own personal authority and natural order so he never needs to feel threatened.

His Sun is exactly united with Uranus, which makes him incredibly eccentric, original and independent, but he also tends to be nervous, impatient and reckless when it gets the best of him. His Mars, the planet of aggression, is also tied to his Pluto, the planet of domination, which brings him enormous levels of energy and strength of will. On a good day, he can use his powers for good and transform himself, his relationships and the world around him. On a bad day, all he wants to do is burn the world, others or himself down. This can also make him quite obsessive and compulsive in achieving whatever he sets his mind toward. Again, this doesn’t have to be entirely foreboding, as it shows that he can be a great force to be reckoned with and help others when he believes that this is the best uses of his gifts.

His Moon, which rules his emotional inner life, does also link to many other planets, which reveals at his basic foundation, he is actually incredible sensitive and driven by what he feels. His Moon, which we often see as tied to his soul, motivates him, as it links to Saturn, Uranus, his Sun, Mercury, Mars and Chiron. Whoa, boy. That’s a lot. This is what gives him such a complicated inner world because on one hand, he can feel like his feelings are blocked on one day and he’s cold, yet on others, he’s driven by constant spontaneity and a rebellious edge. When he’s at his best, he can find stability and balance in his energy, but then when he’s provoked or on edge, he’s fierce and ready for battle. To be honest, Eminem is just so deeply sensitive internally, which is what makes him a loyal friend who will jump to the defense of those he cares for, but it also makes him potentially over-sensitive to criticism.

The last thing I want to mention about his birth chart is that Chiron, the asteroid known as the Wounded Healer, also makes many notable contacts with other planets. This always shows that karmically he has had a great deal of challenge and turmoil that has been thrust upon him and he’s struggled with trusting both men and women throughout his life. He suffered a lot of challenges in his family and this created great insecurity that he is likely still working out to this day. Yet, this has also been a powerful factor granting him his ability to go through constant rebirth.

What are predictions for Eminem?

So what lies ahead for Eminem? Let’s take a peek. First, I’m noticing how Pluto, the planet of rebirth and transformation, is activating a great deal of growth and evolution around his morals, values and sense of self-worth. This has been occurring since the early 2010s and still will continue for at least another decade. This also shows that his wealth has been up and down but over time he’s going to firmly establish even more. He’s going through karmic lessons around communication and his ideas, and with Saturn slowly moving over his Moon in 2022, he’s at times felt a little more somber, serious and under a heavy cloud.

However, it’s taught him to really own up to those feelings and face insecurity in ways he hasn’t before because he does inherently know his strength. Luckily, Jupiter, the planet of miracles, is dancing sweetly for him in 2022—across the sky from his Sun sign—improving relationships with partners and collaborators. It will become ignited in a way that brings more joy to him around his children, too. In fact, in 2023, he could feel more open to love than he has in quite some time—as well as more creative that he has in over a decade. May he embrace all that life has to offer. You heard it here first.
