Michael Carl shook up Instagram on Sunday when he posted a photo of himself on crutches standing next to Grace Coddington, who appeared wildly bruised in the image.
The photo, which has since been deleted, was captioned, “Fashion Victims.”
The head of PR for Hermès and the former Vogue editor, 78, received a flurry of comments immediately, one of which was from designer Tabitha Simmons, who suggested Coddington may have taken a nasty spill.
“OMG !!! Grace you poor poor love, you really did have a bad fall,” Simmons commented.
Carl has been on crutches since at least early November. He posted a photo of himself with the crutches and a bruise-free Coddington on Nov. 2 and wrote, “In this photo I have two accessories.”
It’s unclear if the new image depicts actual injuries Coddington may have sustained, or if it is part of a fashion shoot.
