Kerr Bay Road, Renwick-St Arnaud, Tasman
Lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa give this national park its name. They are surrounded by craggy mountains, where the predominant vegetation is beech trees, up to the bush line, where the forest gives way abruptly to fields of alpine plants. A park highlight is the Department of Conservation's Rotoiti Nature Recovery Project, a mainland island, where visitors can see valuable conservation work at first hand.
