Deep Rebated Dado Rail

Our  dado rails are made from high quality Scandinavian Redwood. It does have knots, and the occasional shrinkage crack which may require a bit of filler, but it is tougher and has a much better surface quality than mouldings made from standard fibreboard and allows for a much crisper and truer profile.

Our Deep Rebated Dado rail is a classic pattern but with the addition of a 9mm rebate to make installation above our panelling very straightforward. The height of this rail is 67mm but the rebate is 14mm deep so it adds 53mm to the panelling height. This is a very traditional but quite a “chunky” pattern, ideal for larger rooms so where space is tight consider our Shallow Rebated design.

Any dado rail can be used with all of our designs although rebated is ideal for Georgian as it conceals the tops of all the grooves.

N.B. Dado rails are 2.4m long but we advise allowing only 2.0m of actual coverage per length as mitred corners use up a sizeable amount of timber!
