Get ready for a crime wave: The TNT crime caper Leverage is returning with new episodes on a new network — and with a new lead actor.
IMDb TV, a free and ad-supported streaming service, has ordered a 13-episode revival of the series, according to our sister site Deadline, making it IMDb TV’s first major original series. ER veteran Noah Wyle is set to star as a new character, joining original cast members Beth Riesgraf (Parker), Gina Bellman (Sophie), Christian Kane (Eliot) and Aldis Hodge (Hardison). Original star Timothy Hutton will not return for the revival, though; Hutton was hit with a serious rape allegation last month.
The revival is said to be an update on the original concept, which featured a band of crooks pulling off elaborate con jobs on wealthy targets. Original executive producer Dean Devlin will serve as an EP on the revival, with series creators John Rogers and Chris Downey serving as consulting producers.
“Since the day it was cancelled, I’ve longed to return to the world of Leverage,” Devlin said in a statement. “The show, the characters, the cast and the people who made it happen all hold a very special place in my heart. Our new series with Amazon Studios and IMDb TV is a re-imagining of the original premise. While Leverage centered on a crusade to avenge the death of a child, this series is propelled forward as a redemption story of misdeeds that need amends. I could not be more excited and fired up about returning to the world of Hitter, Hacker, Grifter, Thief!!”
Leverage debuted in 2008 and became a solid ratings performer for TNT, running for five seasons. The TNT run wrapped up in 2012 after a total of 77 episodes.

OK THIS IS THE BEST NEWS ALLLLLLLLLLL DAY I CANT WAIT FOR PARKER AND HARDISON. I HOPE THEY ARE TOGETHER. AND YESS THESE CAPLOCKS ARE ON PURPOSE
Nathan, OMG I agree with you 500%. I LOVE this SHOW. I have their shows on CD’s and I’ve watched every time it show on TV. Just hope it don’t take a whole year before they bring it back.
Meant to say DVDS NOT CDs.
I JOIN YOU IN THE EXCITEMENT!!!
“Leverage” was such a smartly-written, entertaining show, and I’m excited to see how it evolves with Noah Wyle taking over (presumably) as team leader.
I’m struggling with how Noah’s character will be able to be tough enough to follow in Nate’s shoes, but I’m so thrilled that it’s coming back that I’m open to anything. I hope that they keep the same sense of humor and the strong characters that was so pivotable to Leverage and makes me want to rewatch it over and over again.
Yes me too. I guess when I see the show he will have the same swag as Nate. 😊👍🏽
If you’ve never seen Noah Wyle in Falling Skies you should watch it asap! The man can do tough!
I am disappointed though that him coming in as a Nate replacement means that Parker isn’t leading the team. I loved that character development for her, that by the end she was ready to take over. It’ll be interesting to see the story development on why Sophie is back without Nate, where Hardison is off to all the time with Aldis Hodge not being able to appear full time and why Parker has given up being the Mastermind. Christian Kane said in an interview that he thought Eliot would be the “rock” of the series having not changed much compared to the others.
Looking forward to it being set in New Orleans!
Oh my gosh, you have all the same questions that I do!!… about Nate handing off the baton of team leader to Parker yet we have Harry entering the scene; Parker’s relationship with Hardison (they better still be a couple!) & where he is/what he’s up to, Sophie & Nate’s marriage & how they explain Nate’s absence (it better not be the reason they are casting extras as mourners at a funeral). I’d love to see this interview with Christian Kane that you mentioned! Could you please reply with a link to it? (#Kaniac 😍). I can definitely see Eliot as the rock of the show with all it seems they may have going on among them & in the world since we’ve last seen them. I hope we get more of Eliot’s backstory, too, like filling in the blanks from the night he stopped by to see his dad & left the beer on the porch because no one answered the door. So much more Leverage to see unfold…. can’t wait!!!!
Noah seems to be able to pull off just about anything – His turn as Steve Jobs showed quite a bit of range, and as previously mentioned, falling skies seemed to cement his tough guy abilities.
SAME NATHAN!!! I GOT LAID OFF ON MONDAY AND THIS IS THE FIRST THING TO MAKE ME SMILE SINCE!!!
I can’t wait to see Harrison and Parker again😆! I’m ok with Noah Wyle as the replacement for Timothy Hutton. It’s going to be interesting to see how Noah’s character gets introduced and becomes part of this team.
Sorry but i wont be watching since Timothy Hutton is not going to be on it, he was my favorite player

I miss Aldis Hodge and Beth Riesgraf so much! Why haven’t they become major Hollywood stars yet? So versatile.
Aldis Hodge has had some strong roles and his profile is definitely rising. He just needs that one breakout to become a star. Since Leverage I’ve always been rooting for him, can’t wait to see him in this role again.
You need to watch the movie “Brian Banks”. Aldis plays Brian and is soooooo good. It’s a true story of a high school football player who was wrongly accused of rape, went to jail and worked to vindicate himself.
WRT to Reisgraf, her baby-daddy (not meant in a derogatory way) was a very famous actor who, ahem, “attended religious services with Tom Cruise, Kristy Alley, and same.” They sort of stood on her career’s throat.
.
Also, she’s almost 5-8, and it can be harder for taller actresses like that to take off. They have to find roles, and costars, that are good fits. I loved her, to death, and was likewise surprised she didn’t book tons of work.
Aldis is a bonafide Hollywood star, has been in Oscar winning movies and Emmy winning series. Why Beth doesn’t have her own show is beyond me, I love how she is so different in all her roles. But Parker and Hardison are iconic roles and I’m thrilled that they’ll be back, although I can’t imagine Sophie without Nate. With graft rampant in DC and congress relaxing the rules on corporations, we’ve desperately needed the Leverage team to fight for the little guy.
Beth is on 68 Whiskey!!
Aldis is on City on a Hill. Aldis is only going to be recurring on the new Leverage because of his filming schedule not full time.
Christian Kane is also on Almost Paradise (another Dean Devlin show) and Nina Bellman is recurring on Bulletproof so they’re all working right now. They’re all going to have to film around their schedules because they all have contracts.
beth does..68whisky
I’m surprised that Gina is returning, only because Nate and Sophie walked off into the sunset in the series finale.
–
Buuut I could also see Sophie coming back as an advisor, so it’s not out of the question in terms of story. 😎
That was my thought too. I have so missed this show.
Maybe Nate will be killed off-screen, and then Sophie reunites with the team in order to track down Nate’s killer?
Ooo. Delicious!
You should be a writer! Great idea!!
Maybe it turns out Nate had a credible rape allegation against him and she decided to dump him like the trash he is and restart her life.
Did you read the article they linked to? This woman has been trying to extort him for years and he went to the FBI when she went public with her BS.
Did you read the article they linked to?
Her story has been backed up by her friend who was there that night. Plus the handful of people she has shared the story with over the years.
I’m on the fence, honestly. If there was a therapist, coworker, or other independent individual corroborating, I’d be totally inclined to believe her. Or at least one other incident indicating a pattern of behavior on Hutton’s part. As it stands though the people backing her up are all people with a vested interest in getting money out of Hutton. I’m not saying the allegations are false, but I do think there’s not enough information to leap to a conclusion either way.
I also read that his attorneys called her story seriously into question when her ex started bargaining for a better settlement. Did you?
Plus, there have been tons of rumors about TH. He dated Angelina Jolie, when she was very young. Like, border of 18 young. He’s had a rep for dating young for a long, long time.
.
And, yes, rumors. But those rumors come from places that are very well sourced (same places that screamed about Weinstein and Epstein for years). I don’t take those rumors as gospel, but I certainly give them credence.
He’s 15 years older than AJ…if every actor who dates someone 15 years younger than they are is automatically guilty of random extortion allegations – lock ’em all up. I have read the older articles about this mess and it just seems to me there’s not enough “there” there to assume he’s guilty without a trial. I hate he’s being tried and convicted already.
did she go to the police, or the media?
Someone should tell Mrs. Biden to do the same.
Many people have been telling Melania the same thing but she doesn’t care right now because she’s stuck, do you care?
Also, again, WRT Biden, how come these stories of Biden’s sexual assaults never came to light during numerous successful senate runs, Decades in the US Senate, two VP runs, and 8 years during which he was 1 heart-beat away from the Oval Office.
.
How come we never heard about them until now.
.
Now being a time when he’s whipping Trump in polling. I mean, it is almost as if someone made these rumors up at a time when Biden was dangerous to a “man” who is known to lie about anything, and who is likewise desperate to hold off losing an election.
Well the allegation was “believed” by Kamala Harris but quickly forgotten when dealt the Vice President position. You tell me.
Has the ALLEGATION been proven?
I am ridiculously excited about this.
Awesome news, one of my favorite shows of all time
The original was a fun show looking forward to this
OH, WOW!!! THE BEST NEWS of the day! I loved the series the first time around and hated that TNT cancelled it.
i think noah wyle a good replacement for nate plus i always thought the librarians tv show was similar to leverage probly didnt help that christian kane was in it too playing the same type of character but with different back story
YES! This is awesome news.
Oh and I hope Mark Sheppard will reprise his role (James Sterling) for at least one episode.
Frankly, he’d have been a great replacement for Hutton. I love Noah, but Sterling would be a great replacement.
OH!!!, I hope so too. He is the only return I ‘ve been looking for on ‘Supernatural’.
Almost no chance Sheppard returns to Supernatural. He’s very open about the fact that he did not part on good terms with the producers.
Thrilled!!!!
One of my favorites shows, so I’m very glad to hear this. I enjoyed Wyle on ER, Falling Skies and of course The Librarians, so this works.
I’ll say this however–if Hutton is guilty, he must be held responsible. If he’s not, as he is trying to prove, I hope he can return to the show at some point.
Hutton shouldn’t have to PROVE that he isn’t guilty. That’s literally not how it works in this country…you prove guilt, not innocence. MeToo likes to forget this and try people instead by internet, finding them guilty immediately via kangaroo court. It’s ridiculous.
That’s the courts, not public opinion. Just imagine if poc didn’t have to worry about walking around and being blamed for things they didn’t do based on stereotypes and racists idiots? That would feel wonderful.
How does one prove something didn’t happen 37 years ago? I attended many parties in high school (which for me was only 20 years ago) – I imagine you might have as well. I went into rooms alone with members of the opposite sex. The only people who know what happened in those rooms were me and the other person. The article that was linked was pretty vague on what the other girl at the party corroborated. Certainly that they went to a hotel room with Hutton and his friend, but did she witness the rape? Did she witness her friend upset after? We don’t know.
My point is, if someone came out tomorrow and said that you stole something 20 years ago, how would you go about proving you didn’t? That is the problem with coming out years later. There is a valid reason for statute of limitations.
Every time there’s an accusation of rape or sexual harassment I give the accused the benefit of the doubt. Especially since claims are surfacing years later. I’m just saying that we shouldn’t just assume someone is guilty.
“The revival is said to be an update on the original concept, which featured a band of crooks pulling off elaborate con jobs on behalf of paying clients. ”
The clients NEVER paid them. That was the whole point, they paid them back what they lost in the end.
I love the show! Have them all on dvd! Looking forward to some more!
YES! YES! YESSSSS!!! Best news today
This is the best news. The series should have never been canceled in the first place. Great actors, intelligent writing and just a plain escape from all the stress of every day life. In this world , evil wins . Leverage actually showed that the little guy/girl can over come corruption, discrimination, cover ups etc. Not that excited about Noah. I hated his fast talking and rude behavior as the Librarian. Maybe he will surprise me.
yeah i have no issue with Noah as an actor but i don’t see him leading this team the way Timothy did.
Finally, good news for a good show! I do wish it was everyone returning though, the whole cast ensemble was fantastic. The character Nate will be hard to replace, but I’m truly glad to see the overall story continues.
More Christian Kane is never a bad thing.
I didn’t want it to end when it went off the first time, so this is great news. Beth Reisgraf’s Parker is one of my all time favorite characters. Looking forward to see how things have developed between her and Hardison. The original series ending made Hutton’s absence reasonable. (Though one has to wonder why Sophie is in the picture.)
Hodge/Hardison will only appear if his schedule permits.
“DAMNIT, HARDISON!!! 😎
I did not see this coming ! wow ! can’t wait !
So happy with this news. So unexpected.
Wow I actually loved this show! Never in a million years did I see it coming back. Interesting that Noah Wyle and Christian Kane worked together on The Librarians.
I have ALWAYS wanted this. It’s disappointing that Timothy Hutton won’t be back but obviously I understand why. Just give me some Hardison and Parker and I’m all set.
I’ve actually already been watching IMDB TV for streaming episodes of Chicago Fire and Corner Gas (a funny underrated Canadian sitcom). The commercial breaks aren’t too bad, usually barely 30 seconds. And its incorporated into the Prime Video catalog.
Hey Mike – How can I get IMDB TV? Is it an app on Roku or smart TV? I would so watch this (LOVED Leverage and still watch reruns when I catch them). I just can’t watch on my computer.

This is great news. Leverage is great escapism. I thought it ended prematurely as well. Casting Wylie is smart as well.
The Real question is will they film in Portland or will the Amazon money allow them to film in LA?
The rumor i’ve heard from up in Portland is that Louisiana landed Leverage.
BEST TV NEWS EVER!!!
