Windows Vista bootscreen

Post by Y@riK »

Hi everybody! I have already installed Windows Vista 6001. When he boots, i see bootscreen (~ 640x480x4). I can edit ntoskrnl.exe and change bootscreen like XP.
I found this pictures in internet! It is real to do Vista Bootscren like Windows 7? With high color bitmap.

If I remember correctly, in Vista's msconfig, you can set whether it use the black boot screen or the GUI boot screen (the aurora one).
I <3 Metro UI. not anymore

I believe SP1 gets you a blue aurora, SP2 gets you a green, and no SP gets you a different green than SP2 with words "Starting Windows Vista" under the aurora.
See http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/60405 ... creen.html

You can pull this off with some 3rd party programs in 7.
Setting "Nogui Boot" under msconfig won't be needed there. (in 7)

Then you have SP2 installed.
I believe replacing some resources in some module (I don't know which, so enlighten me) with one from another SP could bring a different aurora.

A couple of days ago, while configuring my XP, Vista, 8 dual boot system, this shows up. I couldn't get by it and had to restore my Vista. Even safe mode didn't fix this. Was there something I could have done to fix this?

Windows Historian: Did you install in this order:

XP, Vista, 8

Is your system new? You may need to turn off Secure Boot and turn on Legacy. This is in the BIOS.
