Cowboys LT Tyron Smith officially ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Broncos

Dallas doesn’t believe the bone spurs in his ankle will be a long-term problem.

FRISCO — Starting left tackle Tyron Smith was officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against Denver with bone spurs in his ankle. The Cowboys don’t believe it’s a long-term injury. Terence Steele will take over for Smith at left tackle with La’el Collins moving to the right tackle spot.

“LC is comfortable and Terence is doing a really good job,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “Nothing surprises me with [Steele], just think about his path here and what he’s done in the short time he’s been here. [He’s] obviously a young man with high character and work ethic. He accepts and goes after every challenge I thought both days particularly the padded work was good.”

Briefly: TE Blake Jarwin (hip) has been ruled. … WRs CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Amari Cooper (hamstring) were listed as questionable on the injury report.
