The print is a rare and beautifully detailed hand-coloured chromolithograph, printed on matt medium-weight, creamy-coloured paper, blank on the reverse. It comes from a disbound book on wild flowers by Robert Hogg and George Johnson dated 1863. The plate is drawn and coloured by Charlotte Gower, and the colours remain bright and vibrant.

This print is neither matted nor framed; it would look lovely when mounted, either on its own, or in association with one of our other botanical illustrations. Some of the scans depict the possible appearance.

Approximate print size: 8.5 x 5.5 inches (21.5 cm x 13.5 cm).

As with all items of this age, there may be some slight characteristic foxing, toning or marking but the condition of this one is good, and the image is clear and bright.
