Venetian Blinds

While you can choose from a wide range of blinds and window treatments, even today, Venetian blinds still rank as one of the most elegant and versatile options. Moreover, the limitless choice of slats, including wooden Venetian blinds, makes it easy to find the most suitable Venetian blinds for every room in your home.

Venetian blinds are the most versatile and adaptable, and their timeless elegance makes them a top choice for any room. Venetian blinds feature tilting horizontal slats that allow you to control how much light is let into the room. You can pull them up to the top using a cord or tilt them to various angles with a wand to adjust for privacy and light.

Depending on the interior design of your home, you can choose wooden, faux-wood, PVC, or metal Venetian blinds in various colors.

At Factory Direct Blinds, we offer the best selection of blinds and window blinds to fit your desired style for your home.

FAQs

How to clean venetian blinds?

The best way to clean Venetian blinds is by wiping them with a dry dust cloth or feather duster. For another convenient method of cleaning Venetian blinds, Home Depot  sells cleaning brushes featuring parallel dusters.

What are venetian blinds?

Venetian window blinds combine horizontal slats made of metal, wood, or PVC suspended on cords. The cord lets you pull the blinds up or rotate the slats to achieve the desired lighting. Some Venetian blinds come with a wand to rotate the slats.

You can also buy motorized Venetian blinds or a cordless variety whereby you adjust the height by hand.

How to remove venetian blinds?

The removal method depends on the Venetian blind type. If you are removing Venetian blinds with standard brackets, fully pull up the blinds first. Find the clips holding the blind in place, wedge a screwdriver into the space between the clip and the blind, and release it. Do this on both sides and remove the Venetian blind by gently sliding it toward you.

If your Venetian blind features a spring-loaded bracket, start by pulling it up to the top before locating the bracket. You release it by first pushing the blind against the window and then twisting it toward you. Doing this allows you to remove the bracket and release the blind.

How to fix venetian blinds?

Here are the most common issues with Venetian window blinds and how to fix them:

  • Broken Slats: Lay your blinds flat on the table and gently pull out the cord to remove the broken slat and replace it with a new one. Rethread the blinds.
  • Venetian blinds won’t open or close: You likely need to replace the cord. Using a lighter, fuse the old cord with a new one while the blinds lie flat. Gently pull out the old cord, thus feeding the new cord through.
  • Venetian blinds won’t stay open or tilt: This is likely due to a broken lock mechanism or a frayed or damaged cord. Remove the blind and lay it flat to find out which to replace.

How to install venetian blinds?

Follow the installation instructions included with your new blinds. You may need to drill holes, fit plugs, and attach Venetian blinds with screws or use a special adhesive.
