Kate Middleton has made her first public appearance since Kensington Palace announced in September that she was expecting her third child with Prince William.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been laying low since the announcement as she’s been “suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum,” otherwise known as severe morning sickness, which she also experienced during her first two pregnancies. Her last appearance was Aug. 30, when she visited the White Garden ahead of the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
An expecting Middleton, clad in a blue lace Temperley dress, stepped out on Tuesday to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace in honor of World Mental Health Day. In April 2016, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, together with Prince Harry, established mental health initiative Heads Together in hopes of tackling stigma and changing the conversation surrounding mental health.
Meanwhile, Middleton is still suffering from severe nausea, says a royal aide via Daily Mirror‘s royal correspondent Victoria Murphy, but her condition is “improving.”
