On October 4, Netflix launched a new docuseries that highlights the dizzying rise of former English footballer, David Beckham, through unpublished images, called 'Beckham'. This production traces his modest beginnings to his consecration in the world of soccer at a global level. Personalities such as Victoria Beckham, Florentino Perez, Roberto Carlos or Ronaldo Nazario participate in the project.
But one of the most talked about pages of his story is, without a doubt, his supposed romance with the Spanish model Rebecca Loos. Something that in the end was not confirmed.
Who was Rebecca Loos?
Rebecca Loos, Spanish model, actress and presenter who was born in Madrid in 1977, said to have had a relationship with footballer Beckham in 2003, when he played for Real Madrid. Loos was born in Madrid to a Dutch father and British mother. She studied journalism and worked as a model and presenter before meeting Beckham. In 2003, she was hired as personal assistant to the Beckham family in Spain.
In 2004, Loos gave an interview to the German magazine 'In Touch', in which she claimed that she had been having an affair with Beckham for several months.
The news caused a huge scandal in the entertainment world and put Beckham's marriage to Victoria in jeopardy.
"I got a call from the News of the World saying they were going to expose me and Beckham. My heart stopped beating for a minute," Loos explained.
Beckham denied Loos' allegations, but the couple's relationship was strained. Loos was fired from her job as a personal assistant and became a controversial figure. Loos currently lives in Norway with her husband, Sven Christjar Skaiaa, and their two children.
She also has a website, on which she explains, "If someone had approached me ten years ago in London and told me that one day I would be living in an old farmhouse in a small town in the Norwegian mountains, married and a mother of two, I would have burst out laughing. But here I am. Far away from London and Madrid, far away from the glamour, pomp and cameras that were once my life. And happier than I have ever been. That's the wonderful thing about life: you never know what tomorrow will bring".
