Patsy Kensit has broken her silence following her shocking split from fiancé Patric Cassidy, taking to Instagram to share a cryptic message about the breakup with her 165k followers.
A rep for the EastEnders star confirmed in July that the couple's nuptials was off, following a ten-month-long engagement. Patsy, 55, had accepted the property tycoon's marriage proposal back in September, after just five weeks of dating. Patric, 54, popped the big question on an idyllic beach decorated by rose petals, taking to his knee to present a gorgeous diamond ring to the overjoyed soap star.
Patsy, who is also known for playing Sadie King on Emmerdale between 2004 and 2006, has now broken her silence on the separation by posting a selfie and and a short caption.
"Baby steps., I call it the break up diet," she wrote beneath the simple photo. In the up-close snap, a kohl-eyed Patsy is staring directly at the camera while wearing her straight blonde hair down. The update quickly gained the attention of her supportive fanbase, many of whom took to the comment section to share their sweet messages with the actress during this difficult time.
"Beautiful inside and out," said Michelle Keegan, who has played Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street since 2008. Others took the opportunity to offer Patsy some heartbreak advice as she adjusts to single life once again.
"Unfortunately we’ve all been on that diet but it does get better," one kind person reassured, while another said, "Hi darling, everything happens for a reason. Your next door that opens will be The BEST."
Shortly after Patsy and Patric's breakup was confirmed, a source shared more details of the pair's split with the Mail Online. "They have a lot of love for one another, but ultimately, she knew that they couldn’t make it work in the long-term so felt it was best not to move forward with their relationship," they explained. "Patsy has lots of exciting work opportunities at the moment, and she is throwing herself into her career."
Patsy has also been married to musicians Dan Donovan, Jim Kerr and Oasis musician Liam Gallagher. She divorced her fourth and most recent husband, Jeremy Healy, in 2010, just one year after they tied the knot. The talented actress has previously admitted to only counting the two marriages from which she has children, however.
"I married all my boyfriends, so... that was something that I've learned I needn't do," she told the Postcards from Midlife podcast last year. "I can't change the rules of the law... [but] I was with Jim, and Lennon's dad [Liam Gallagher] for years, so I kind of count them as my two marriages."
