Rebecca Loos gave herself a nickname after claiming she had an affair with David Beckham in the early noughties.

David, 48, and his wife Victoria, 49, were at the centre of a new Netflix documentary called Beckham. The series gave viewers an insight into the couple's personal lives and David's incredible football career. The couple also opened up about the highs and lows of their 24-year marriage.

Director Fisher Stevens asked the duo about the alleged affair that tested their marriage in 2004. The now-defunct News Of The World claimed the footballer had an affair with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos while playing football in Spain. At the time, David said the claims were "ludicrous".

When the news first came out, Rebecca made a number of TV appearances and took part in interviews to discuss the alleged 'affair'. Not only did she detail the moments leading up to the supposed infidelity and the duo's relationship, she even called herself David's "second wife".

Rebecca told Sky that the footballer was an 'amazing lover' and that the duo allegedly 'couldn't keep their hands off each other'. "He knows how to please. He’s not afraid of a woman’s body. He seems to know what he’s doing," the former glamour model and mum-of-two told Kay Burley.

In the documentary, David admitted he doesn't know how he and Victoria got through the difficult time, which Posh Spice called one of the "hardest periods" in their lives. He said: "Every time that we woke up we felt there was something else ... we both felt at the time that we were not losing each other but drowning." When asked how their marriage survived, he responded: "I don't know how we got through it, in all honestly.

"Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we're fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for. There were some days that I would wake up and think, 'How am I going to go to work? How am I going to walk onto that training pitch? How am I going to look as if nothing's wrong?' I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes, 'How am I going to do this?'"

The rumours resulted in Victoria moving to Madrid to be closer to her husband, but she was unhappy about leaving the UK and ended up "resenting" David. She confessed: "It was probably, if I'm being honest, the most unhappy I have ever been in my life. It wasn't that I felt unheard because I chose to internalise a lot of it because I was always mindful of a focus that he needed."
