For the uninitiated, muscle bikes are large capacity machines dressed in street cruiser clothing and producing serious amounts of torque and power. The mixture of chrome, wide bars and tires bolted to a long wheelbase chassis command huge road presence even though bold styling means they are often mistaken for asthmatic two-wheeled handbags.

This 2009 Harley Night Rod has a Porsche-designed, 1.2L V-twin, double overhead cam, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine has electronic sequential port fuel injection and Vance Hines competition exhausts. There is a five-speed manual transmission with a manual, wet, multi-disc clutch.

120/70ZR-19 red line tires in front and 240/40R-18 red line tires in back. Both tires are mounted on gray alloy wheels with Brembo cross-drilled disc brake rotors. It has a 67-inch wheelbase and 4.8 inches of ground clearance. There is also a five-gallon fuel tank.

There is room up top for one or two people.

The 2009 Harley-Davidson muscle bike lineup is more diversified than ever before thanks to the addition of the all-new V-Rod Muscle while also carrying on the base V-Rod model and the Night Rod Special. It is what we like to call “Harley’s VRSC magic triangle” simply because you won’t get out of it on your feet, but on two wheels.

In 2009, Harley-Davidson launched the Night Rod Special, a cruiser motorcycle in its third consecutive year of production.

Most of the chromed accents were replaced with black paint and other components, such as the slotted aluminum disk wheels, exhaust pipes, the front fork, headlight cowl, air-box cover, and much more.

As for the power figures, the 2009 Harley-Davidson Night Rod was brought to life by a 1,247cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine, boasting 125 hp at 8,250 rpm and 85 lbs-ft torque at 7,000 rpm.

The Harley-Davidson V-twin Racing Street Custom (VRSC), also known as V-Rod, was a series of cruiser motorcycles manufactured by Harley-Davidson from 1999 to 2017. The V-rod was introduced in 2001 to compete with other American and Japanese motorcycles.

The V-Rods were often called muscle bikes due to their high power output. Also, the V-Rods were the first street machine produced by Harley-Davidson that packed a liquid-cooled engine and overhead camshafts.
