You are slightly off if you think the Holidays are pure joy. Look at the rate of suicides, homicides, DWIs and car accidents. Look at the number of accidents related to hanging Christmas lights. Look at the stress of shopping for gifts from trying to figure what gifts to buy people to trying to figure how to afford the gifts. While Amazon shopping has helped with pushing and shoving crowds they still exist. Look at the number of thefts of packages being stolen off of people’s properties and people’s cars, Consider how many people have to put in overtime hours and shifts. Think about exhausted sales staff, hateful attitudes from shoppers and drivers in parking lots. How about dozens of people asking for donations. How about having to donate money for a Christmas gift for a supervisor you don’t like, knowing they will give you yucky homemade cookies in return. If you are involved with a church choir, you are even more busy than other people. No the holidays are not pure joy. Why do you think more and more people are saying they will be glad when the holidays are over.
