Unique and Soothing Experience for All Ages - You get 20 minutes in the mud but then can bathe in the other pools for as long as you like. They will rent towels and bathing suits. I wish we could have spent more time in the mud but I felt amazing all day long afterwards. Have never done this before and I loved it!

Lovely experience - We loved the mud and mineral/sulpher hot pools. The whole set up is very professional and the staff were attentive and polite. It was a very pleasant experience all in all. It would have been better had the gift shop had anything interesting, -a very scant supply of items for sale.

Solo scot - All good, great to hear some of the history. The guide knew his stuff and made it an enjoyable visit. I would recommend visiting to anyone thinking of it .

You gotta come here—it’s AWESOME! - Best geothermal attraction of the North Island! Beautiful paths, bubbling mud pools, and the mud baths—HEAVEN! It’s worth it to be a little “crusty” for the remainder of your touristic day—but rent a suit from them so you don’t gunk up your own! 5 circles +++

Relaxing experience - Awesome relaxing experience! Friendly informative staff, clean and a beautiful location. The mud and sulphur baths were a perfect temperature. The area was lovely if you wanted to walk around and take a tour to see the geyser's. Worth the money!

Don't knock it till you've tried it - This was one of the things on our trip where I thought it would be all for my wife. A burly 180cm+ larger than life gentleman, I thought there would no way I would enjoy this. I was wrong!!! I felt like a kid again, smearing mud all over myself and helping my wife to ensure she was sufficiently covered. Once I was rinsed off (hint ... when you think you have got it all, rinse again.) The sulphur hit pools were very relaxing. The only downside were my eyes were burning very quickly. Once it was all done, I felt very relaxed, rejuvenated and my skin was tingling.

Muddy Good Fun. - Great way to relax and recover from a busy day adventuring. Fun to play in warm “clean” mud and wash off in the thermal pools. We rented suits and towels and once we got over the idea of renting those items we were glad we did, the sulphur is strong and the mud sticky. Facility including showers were clean, workers constantly cleaning. Friendly, efficient and clean. A fun, out of the ordinary visit for us.

Pricey but fun - This is a must do while here- it is cheesy and touristy but fun. The mud bath is for only 20 minutes but that’s about all you need. The other pools are hot and relaxing. It is very pricey for what you get but it is an experience. My complain would be the showers in the change rooms only have cold water. We were told to let it run for warm water- 5 minutes and no warm water. Another annoying thing is that you pay extra for being out of country.

Facilities are terrible - The self guided walk around the geothermal areas was ok. The mud baths and hot pools were okay. The facilities were horrible. Just an open area to change in front of everyone and community showers with no privacy curtains or screens. Yuck.

Not Enough Bang for Your Buck - First let me say, I liked soaking in the mud. But like everything in Rotorua, this attraction is over priced. At around $100/person we got 20 minutes in the not very hot mud. They claimed it was too hot for us to stay longer but then said we could stay in the much hotter acidic bath as long as we pleased. Truth is, they were short on mud bath space and needed to move people through quickly. (Word of caution, don’t soak in the acidic pools very long, the fumes can irritate your eyes.) Also, instead of lockers we were given black rubber tubs which stained our towels. It seems to me that for ~$100/person, this facility could provide more mud bath space, proper lockers and a changing area that didn’t require that you strip down naked and shower in front of strangers.
