Sep 30 | Make a Simple Pendant Using Precious Metal Clay
$80.00

September 30th - 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm

This 4-hour class will introduce you to "Precious Metal Clay" (PMC), and "Art Clay Silver".
Both of which are Japanese brands of a clay-like substance made out of recycled metal, such as gold, silver, copper, and bronze.
Using this material we can create close to pure metal jewelry without casting, molds, or metal sheets. The material is flexible enough that you can hand-form easily and it is low-fire, which makes it easier to work with in your home. The result is silver jewelry much more pure than Sterling Silver .

For this class we will be creating a simple pendant of your choice out of silver clay by pressing texture plates or organic materials into the clay.
You will learn how to mold, fire, and polish your work so that you can leave the class with a completed piece.

THIS CLASS DOES NOT INCLUDE MATERIALS, only tools. The material fee ($40) can be paid to the instructor prior to the class using Venmo @Glaucia-Romano or cash at the day of the class. Materials include 10g of Pure Silver Clay, butane torch, and polishing tools.

Finishing stones, beads, chains, and findings to complete your necklace can also be purchased from the instructor during the class (optional).
