WWE star Goldust has urged the public to "let people live their lives" after his transgender step-son was attacked.

The incident took place on Friday night, and the wrestler took to his personal Facebook page to issue a statement.

No details have been revealed of where it happened, or how how bad the extent of the attack was on the individual.

Goldust, real name Dustin Runnels, posted: "My step son who is a transgender was attacked last night and I’m f******g p****d.

"Grow the eff up and let people live their lives the way they choose.

"The three men who attacked and beat her up are still out there. You boys are three lucky individuals that I wasn’t there or you would [be] on life support."

Since WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump was announced to become the next President, America has witnessed a surge of hate crimes across the country.

Goldust has won a variety of belts in WWE, including being a three time Intercontinental champion, a nine-time Hardcore champion and a multiple champion of a range of tag-team championships.
