It's been 14 years since the 26/11 Mumbai attacks that shook the nation. It was one of the worst terror attacks that the nation saw in many years. On Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and other leaders paid tributes to victims of the 26/11 terror attacks. 

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, while remembering the 26/11 Mumbai attack victims said that terrorism threatens humanity and those behind the attacks must be brought to justice. 

"Terrorism threatens humanity. Today, on 26/11, the world joins India in remembering its victims. Those who planned and oversaw this attack must be brought to justice. We owe this to every victim of terrorism around the world," Jaishankar tweeted. 

"On the anniversary of 26/11 #MumbaiTerrorAttacks, the nation remembers with gratitude all those we lost. We share the enduring pain of their loved ones & families. Nation pays homage to security personnel who fought valiantly & made supreme sacrifice in line of duty," the President of India tweeted. 

On Nov 26, 2008, the city of Mumbai was witness to one of the most shocking terror attacks of our times. In a period of four days, 140 nationals and 26 citizens of 23 other countries lost their lives. Over 300 were injured in the attack. The attack lasted till 29 November. Ajmal Kasab was the only terrorist captured alive and he was hanged on November 21, 2012. 

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday paid floral tributes to the martyrs. They paid tributes at the martyrs' memorial in the premises of the Police Commissioner Office in south Mumbai, where Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, minister Deepak Kesarkar, Chief Secretary Manu Kumar Srivastava, state Director General of Police (DGP) Rajnish Seth, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and other officials were present.


Family members of the policemen, who lost their lives during the November 2008 attacks, also paid tributes to the martyrs.
