BJP leader RP Singh on Thursday asked Kangana Ranaut to apologise over 'demeaning' an elderly Sikh woman in her now-deleted farmers' post.

In a tweet, the BJP leader said that he respects Kangana for her courage and acting, but he would not accept her demeaning his 'mother', Mohinder Kaur.

He also demanded her to make a public apology.

"@KanganaTeam I respect you for your courage & acting but I will not accept anyone disrespecting or demeaning my mother. You must make a public apology for doing so. #MohinderKaur," read the BJP leader's post.

Earlier, Kangana had misidentified the protestor as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh, and claimed, that the woman had come to be a part of the protest for just Rs 100.

"Ha ha ha, she is the same dadi who featured in Time magazine for being the most powerful Indian... And she is available for 100 rupees. Pakistani journos have hijacked international PR for India in an embarrassing way. We need our own people to speak for us internationally," Kangana had said in a tweet.

Kangana's claim in the tweet was proved to be wrong, several Punjabi artists like Jasbir Jassi, Ammy Virk, Prince Narula, Himanshi Khurana and others had called her out for it.
