She has even addressed the 'nasty' backlash herself on social media

Rebecca Loos has been flooded with support following ‘disgusting’ comments about her alleged ‘affair’ with footballer David Beckham.

The Beckham family have been in headlines recently after the release of a new Netflix documentary, which delves into the ups and downs of dad David’s professional and personal life...

"Beckham, a four-part documentary series, tells the inside story of a global football star and cultural icon,” a synopsis says.

"David Beckham is one of the most known names on the planet, yet few people know who he really is. From his humble working-class beginnings in east London, his drive and determination to win, and the battle to find balance between ambition, love and family, David’s story is one of immense ups and downs.

"The series takes you on that rollercoaster and builds a surprising, personal and definitive story of one of the most recognisable and scrutinised athletes of all time.”

During the new series, which dropped on Netflix last week, David’s wife Victoria is asked about the effect the rumours of an affair with Rebecca Loos - his former assistant - had on their marriage.

The new documentary landed on Netflix last week.

The mother-of-four explained how it pushed them to breaking point, but that they came through it, recalling: "It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us.

"Here’s the thing - we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.

“You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.

“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either.

“And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare.

“It was an absolute circus - and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it.”

After the documentary was released, Rebecca has been hit with backlash by viewers, saying on Instagram she’d received a wave of ‘nasty comments’.

However, many fans have leapt to her defence, with one writing: "20 years ago, get over it ppl! Leave her alone."

Someone else said: "Some of the comments on here are disgusting!!! Stay strong. You have a beautiful life with your gorgeous family which unlike others doesn’t have to fill the gaps by getting Netflix involved!!!"

A third commented: "Came here for the comments and was not disappointed. Why is the other woman always subjected to such hate? Why not the married man? Bet there’s no nasty comments on his Insta page! Hope you’re doing ok."

A fourth added: "The amount of hate this poor lady is receiving is shocking. Most of them mothers, some of them are shouting about mental health in their bios... To bring another woman down and troll her says much more about you! #vile. What a world!"

Responding to her supporters, Rebecca then directly replied: "Thank you, am taking in the nasty comments with as much humour as I can."
