I have a G35 Revup. There's not much difference between the non-revup kit as far as i know. I know the G35 piping is longer than the 350z kit but pretty much the same kit.

Default Wasup

Wasup guys I drive an 06 g35 coupe 6mt.

I recently got a custom made rear mount turbo kit install similar to the sts rear mount kit.

I made 360whp on 10psi of boost untill my stock maf sensor was maxed out.

Mods are:
Jnt Racing Test Pipes
Stock Y Pipe
Stock Midpipe
Resonator Cut Out
Gtr Injectors

I have a few questions hopefully I can get some answers. Im getting some strong fumes into the cabin to the point where it feels like im going to pass out have any of you experienced this ? I heard its from the crankcase hose but I put a filter on it but didnt help.

Im thinking its coming from the hose which is suppose to go on the intake but I may be wrong or could it be that my exhaust is like 8 inch shy from the back bumper ? (You can see how short it is from the pictures)

Also I need to quiet this dang down its too loud for me cant even push it on city street without being pulled over.

wow that is pretty low # for 10psi.. there were a couple of old timers here that did 10 psi and they are about 400whp. I also have a revup G35 like you, I dont exactly remember but i was at 375whp at around 7-8psi, at 360whp you should hit that at 7psi.. Also you are hitting full boost way late, I expect you to hit 10 psi around mid 4K. I hit 10psi at about 4100 rpm right now. I'm already complaining about my lag. Your car may not be as fun to drive if you hit full boost above 5K rpm and that power level. I bet you dont hit half your boost level even on second gear

Now on the fumes, i see you have a test pipes and a straight mid-pip, that adds to the problem!! I had a TP and everything else stock and i hated the rasp, the loudness and the fumes!! I mean i smell like gas every time i drive my car so I switched back to the stock CAT. Also make sure you dont have any exhaust leak.. Now i have a TP but i also have an XYZ pipe with HFC and that was the perfect combo IMO... not too loud and no more fumes!!

I noticed the pipe after the mid-pipe going to the hotside is different.. Is that the new piping STS sends or you had it modified? I like it but it look like the pipe diameter is larger which may add to the lag and delay boost.. Where can i get one?

Edit:

I missed the part of the custom Rear-Mount!!! epic fail...

please give more details on what piping size you are using for the cold side. also details on the turbo you are using. I think you are using a bigger diameter pipes and that is why you have a terrible boost curve..

My guess is an exhaust leak up front, and definitely the breather hose if it's vented up front. It's supposed to loop back to the intake, maybe run it all the way to the back and let it either vent back there or loop back into the turbo just before the filter so it won't see positive pressure.

Hey guys. I've been eying the sts kit for some time. I just emailed STS with a ton of questions, waiting to hear back from them. I also ordered a new clutch/flyhweel and some other parts that need replaced before I jump into this new world. Going to try and read most of this thread over the next few weeks. STS website is pretty useless which doesnt inspire much faith in their company.

Why not go with the BP Kit instead?

I've been looking at the STS too and what really answered some questions for me like how much would it produce WHP or HP wise, if I have any chance of blowing rods, etc..was sort of answered in the videos uploaded by NutnFancy on Youtube.

Here are just 2 of the 5(?) videos I watched on that turbo:

1)
(He answers some questions about the turbo and the maintenance the kit requires since it is a rear mount)

You also get to see the CEO (seems like a good guy to do business with)

2)
Getting to hear it made STS a possibility when I'm ready to go FI, but until then, I'm just going to keep researching on what kit would best suit me! (I really like the STS so far haha)

I was also looking at this kit. I like it alot. The spool of the turbo sounds amazing. But i prefer the Momentum Performance turbo kit, Powerlab turbo Kit, SOHO turbo kit. More power and potential for the money.

the rear mount has way more potential that any of those upfront kits. you can fit a huge turbo in the back of the car.

rear mounted GTOs and corvettes make awesome power.

Were talking about 350z's and G35's not GTO and Corvette. Way more potential? I can tell you now the Momentum Performance kit is way better then STS and will produce way more power!

HAHA. no **** we are talking about VQ cars. try to fit a 7675 turbo where the tiny gt35 momentum turbo goes...

that will drop right in a rear mount setup.

so you think a T3 framed 62mm gt35 in the momentum kit will make more power than a T4 76mm turbo?

In theory it should make more power but our little engine is not big enough to spool that turbo. It's been tried here already and the power curve is awful and he had a 3.8 L engine to help him but he did manage to hit 6xxwhp. Also Goosgoose went through so many turbo with with is built motor and he couldn't get the power he want without introducing huge lag.

If you have the money and time to play around different setup to reduce lag then a rear-mount can produce good power on the top end. I guess not hitting full boost on lower gear will help with traction

Why would you put it all the way at the back. You will have a power band of about 1500rpm. IMO waste of time.

The 7675 will fit in the mid-mount location, and that will get it spooling much quicker than at the rear. Even with the small 62mm turbos and small .68 a/r T4's guys with this set-up are getting horrible power bands....as in nothing is going on till 5,000rpm.

/\ +1 but .68 a/r T4 is to big.. I would go with a T4 .58 and that should help with lag.

What are you an idoit? A V6 engine will have a hard time spooling such a big turbo and your turbo lag will be crazy. Your power will be very limited. Why would you want to put such a big turbo on our car anyway when it wouldnt even spool it. The fact that the rear mount setup introduces more lag because the turbo is further away from the engine. Then you want a bigger turbo like that will help. A GT35R, 6266, and a 6766 is perfect for a VQ. GT35R turbo can handle 600hp which is very easy for a built VQ to make. 6766 can handle 900hp

Why anyone would buy the STS kit with the Boosted Performance kit already out there is mind blowing. All the recent argument would be pointless with a BP Kit. All the pros and none of the cons... except you can't show it off... LOL

You mean like the 7675 in Jorge's (IIQuickSilverII) Z? A 7675 fits up front just fine.
