Default Rear Mount Turbo Pics

Since all of the threads keep getting deleated around here I did a Google search with the terms 928 and Turbo. This is what I found. I have heard alot of talk around here about rear mount turbo's but I never realized they were that far in the rear. WOW!!! Pictures are courtesy of clear image automotive.

Disclaimer: I do not sell turbos, super chargers, or even floor mats. I have no affiliation with the company who made this and never even heard of them until I found these pics. The only reason I am including their name is to give photo credits. Please don't erase this thread.

There is no filter on that turbo. Even with a filter, I would imagine it would get dirty pretty quickly being under there. Also, what about sucking up water when it rains? I like the way they addressed the oil cooling by giving the turbo it's own pump, but I wonder if it has it's own tank or if it is fed back through the engine.

My main concern is ridiculous turbo lag and sucking up dirt/water.

Looks well done but I can see quite a bit of room for improvement.

Ted, I assume the filter will be mounted in the wheel well. The oil lines are zip tied to the intake air pipe (along with a vacuum hose?).

The vac lines are for WG control. Even with the filter up in the wheel well, I still have my concerns. . .

This view is badass, but begs for vandalism.

This is the unit the PACNW guys are building... So much for keeping it under wraps.

Looks much nicer now, than 4 mo's ago:

It sounds hella schweet when it comes down the road.

If you get one of those, make sure that the dyno guy doesn't stick the exhaust probe into the turbine, like they did with this one. Doh!
